Artist Bio
Tracee's interest in art started at a very early age. For the most part she's a self taught artist, but at
the same time she enjoys and benefits from taking classes and workshops when she can. She feels
art is a learning process that will never end.

The first time she painted with watercolor, she immediately knew it was the medium for her. She
describes herself as innately a creative person, but it was only then that she realized she had a
passion for watercolor. At that time, she was a young mother and just beginning to start a family and
only able to paint on occasion. Now a mother of three her children are a little older and she can focus
and give more attention to her work.

She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Growing up her family spent several months in
Winthrop, Massachusetts and then returned to Corpus Christi. Several years later they moved to
Seguin, Texas where Tracee graduated high school. She couldn't wait to move back to Corpus Christi
and returned to her hometown immediately after.

She primarily works with watercolor on paper, but she is also discovering a variety of ways to use
watercolors along with other painting surfaces such as canvas and yupo paper. She also enjoys
experimenting with acrylics on paper and canvas as well as collage. Ideas for her paintings come from
places she has been, places she wants to go, a photograph, a memory, and her imagination.

She currently resides in Corpus Christi, Texas with her husband and three children.

Artist Statement
"I feel a majority of my subject matter reflects growing up and living on the Gulf Coast of Texas and at
the same time I am inspired by all that God has given us and this world has to offer. I enjoy painting a
variety of subjects. I don't like to limit myself to certain subject matter and I prefer a style that is
loose and painterly; nevertheless, I respect and find pleasure from the many ways watercolors are
used. My hope is that my work stirs up a positive response, feeling, or memory to the viewer."
